Narrative
Full name as recorded at U.S. National Arboretum: Lagerstroemia x egolfii (selection). 8648-EL = 52-79-1 = L. x 'Tuscarora' x L. indica 'Catawba'; small tree form to 15' with large dark purple flowers and creamy tan bark. Selected in 1985 for its small dark purple inflorescences and small dark green leaves. Eight mature plants alive at the time of accessioning. One of Ruth Dix's favorite selections.
