Narrative
Full name as recorded at U.S. National Arboretum: Quercus virginiana. Two trees growing along Beechwood Road across from Lilac Nursery, adjacent to (west of) NA 3721-H (Q. fusiformis collected in western Oklahoma). These trees are smaller, scrubbier than NA 3721. Seed collected from 81547-J for germination study at Ft. Collins, CO and accessioned as NA 81541. Based on Google Earth historical imagery, these plants were planted in the mid-1990s (invisible in April 1994 and visible, but smaller, in April 1999) and are therefore likely to be either NA 61037 or 63285. -SBL Form received: unknown propagule type.
