Narrative
Full name as recorded at U.S. National Arboretum: Tsuga chinensis var. oblongisquamata. From cuttings of one seed-grown plant, NA 69963-001; propagation date unknown, but likely propagated at the same time as a number of other T. chinensis recorded together in the WLPGR polyhouse. [Note: since 69963-011 is the only plant that was definitely alive recently, it is possible that the cuttings are really from that individual, and not -001; it would be an easy typo to make. -SBL]
