Full name as recorded at U.S. National Arboretum: Buxus microphylla. x11/16/64 VHR to SGM: "...Do not know where it came from but seems to be one of the hardiest for me. It is probably a japonica seedling..." [This is presumed to be the plant that was apparently mislabeled 25115 in bed BOX-S for years; however, on old, 1971 inventory, this number appears in the right spot, and its info is a match for the ID of the plant that was determined during the USNA SSR study, Buxus microphylla [var. japonica], tested as NA 25115. It is of a fairly generic kind, in an undistinguished group with 'Faulkner' and its sports as well as 'Sunnyside'. -SBL]
