‘Prosper’/MN08301-6//’Norden’ ‘Prosper’ (Mergoum et al., 2013) is a cultivar developed at North Dakota State University and released jointly by the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station and the Minnesota Agricultural Experiment Station in 2010. Experimental line MN08301-6 is an unreleased line from the University of Minnesota with the pedigree ‘Ulen’-Lr21/MN02207-1. Ulen-Lr21 is the cultivar Ulen (Anderson et al.2006) released in 2005, into which the leaf rust resistance gene Lr21 was backcrossed. Virulent races of the leaf rust pathogen have since defeated Lr21. MN02207-1 is an unreleased experimental line from the University of Minnesota with the pedigree MN98224/MN97448. ‘Norden’ (Anderson et al., 2018) was released by the University of Minnesota in 2012.
