Environment description: Sandhill ecoregion within the "Compass Lake Highlands" (a series of ancient coastal ridges in the area); towards the top of a sunny, north-facing slope leading down to a sinkhole pond; growing against the trunk of a dead oak.
Number of plants sampled: 2
Associated species: Vaccinium arboreum; Carya glabra; Magnolia grandiflora; Magnolia virginiana; Quercus laurifolia; Callicarpa americana.
Comment: Collected from 2-3 trees (one with two large trunks collapsed, leaving behind intact canes), between 15-20' tall but growing horizontally more than vertically; 3.5" caliper. Total fruit weight: 370.56 g; total seed weight: 40.71 g.
