Environment description: Cool, moist, narrow, north-running valley in rocky silt-loam soil; adjacent to cultivated fields, but opposite more natural forest. #059-061 were found in one fork of Mo Gou valley and #062-065 were found in a second fork of the same valley. Growing in rocky silt-loam soil. Slope: 45 degrees. Aspect: East.

Associated species: Acer davidii; Abies sp.; Tsuga chinensis; Fraxinus sp.; Cercidiphyllum japonicum
Comment: Tree; 2 trunks; height 7 m, DBH 12 cm. Bark tan-gray. Leaves opposite; pinnately compound with 7 leaflets; leaflets long, narrow, and serrate; each leaf 10 to 15 cm long. Fruit pale green; each 0.5 cm wide by 3 cm long. Seed collected from one plant. Four herbarium specimens collected.
