Locality: Located in both Bear Creek and Brush Creek watersheds just north, northwest of Arlington, T92N R7W Sec. 5; Sec. 6; Sec. 16; and Sec. 17 (Fairfield Township).

Environment description: Rocky ravine walls with some sampled on top or near massive boulders
Number of plants sampled: 4
Associated species: Site 1: Only two P. strobus noted: Quercus rubra, Tilia americana, Ostrya virginiana, Carya ovata, Zanthoxylum americanum, Populus tremuloides, and Acer saccharum. Site 2: Only two P. strobus noted: Taxus canadensis, Fraxinus nigra, Acer saccharum, Celtis occidentalis, Quercus rubra, Quercus alba, and Tilia americana. Plus nearby numerous, massive (30' tall) Rhus glabra. Site 3: Noted ten specimens of P. strobus: Cornus rugosa, Cornus alternifolia, Dirca palustris, Prunus virginiana, Carpinus caroliniana (abundant), Staphylea trifolia (abundant), Taxus canadensis (abundant), Tilia americana, Viburnum rafinesqueanum, Quercus rubra, Acer saccharum, Carya ovata, and Sambucus pubens. Site 4: Noted two specimens in immediate area and two additional specimens about 200 yards to the east: Massive Juniperus virginiana, Ostrya virginiana, Quercus rubra, Quercus alba, Acer saccharum, and Fraxinus nigra.
Comment: Coordinates refer to first specimen sampled. Average distance between specimens sampled is approximately 0.85 miles. Greatest distance between two trees sampled is 2.80 miles. Coordinates for all mother trees sampled may be provided upon request. While specimen #1 may be of cultivated origin, all others are believed to be "legacy" specimens based on associate species and location of specimens growing on very steep cliffs or massive boulders.
