Environment description: Moist roadside at edge of west Gulf coastal plain flatwoods in Pineywoods ecoregion, in the Big Thicket area. Growing in very fine sandy loam, Sorter-Dallardsville complex.
Associated species: Persea palustris, Ilex vomitoria, Cladium jamaicense, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Rotala ramosior, Marshallia graminifolia, Rhexia sp.
Soil Texture:
Comment: Small tree, less leaf spotting and overall healthier than other collection, leaves glabrous and medium green, fruiting abundantlly; 3 m height; 5 cm DBH; bark reddish brown with light longitudinal cracking; leaves shiny, glabrous and dark green on top, pale below, with subtle orange pubescence along midvein; fruit not yet ripe; glabrous glossy apple green; some dark mottling; ~1 cm long.
