Locality: Common along Eagle Creek and Rio Bonito in the Lincoln National Forest, two to five miles west of Alto. Infrequent at the head of Carlton Canyon along Ski Run Road. T10S R11E SE 1/4 Sec. 3. Coordinates listed refer to the first plant sampled; coordinates for each sample may be provided upon request.

Environment description: Riverbanks in canyon bottoms and head of canyon.
Number of plants sampled: 7
Associated species: Fraxinus velutina, Pinus ponderosa, Quercus gambelii, Ribes sp., Salix goodingii, Sambucus sp. and Ulmus pumila.
Comment: Peak seed ripening occurred during the first and second weeks of September in 2022. Plants above 8500 feet in elevation were beginning to display fall foliage colors at the time of collection.
