Narrative
Received as: Penstemon newberryi subsp. newberryi. Perennial mat-forming subshrub. The leaves are basal, oblong to oval in shape and toothed. The inflorescence is magenta funnel shaped flowers with curly hairs in the lip and on the staminode. Found in rocky habitats at high elevations.
