Narrative
Perennial herb which either creeps along the ground to a somewhat erect shrub. The stem and foliage are fleshy, with the leaves thick and oval. There are many inflorescences on the terminals of the stems that curl in double rows with small bell-shaped flowers. Each flower is white with five rounded lobes and a purple or yellow throat. The fruit is a small nutlet.
