Here, I am trying to fix a problem made during the accessioning of M. Mutschler allium donations (zjs). Specifically:“On another note, there is a double entry in GRIN for a Mutschler onion accession – “CUDHMILD06600”. I entered it with Zach as PI 700813 on 7/7/2023; and Zach entered it as G 33525 on 1/6/2023. One of these entries will have to be voided out…inactivated.” We chose to make G 33525 a NE9 inactive accession. We added G 33525 as an acc/inv name to PI 700813 for backwards compatibility. We did not locate a seed packet for G 33525 13CI SD (March 4, 2024). Original seed packet information: “Mutschler increase; 13-C-6, rows 1 & 2 combined. Packets indicated M3, male.”
Narrative
CUDHMILD06600 is one of a series of long day, doubled haploid lines created in cooperation with Dr. E.D. Earle and deposited. A novel feature of CUDHMILD06600 And the other member of this set of 7 DH lines is that they are milder than pungent onions, and still have the higher Brix and firmness of pungent onion compared to mild onions.
