Environment description: Remnant prairie.
Number of plants sampled: 20
Associated species: Solidago gigantea, Solidago altissima, Solidago rigida, Rubus sp., Urtica dioica, Heuchera richardsonii, Phlox pilosa, Sisyrinchium campestre, Pedicularis canadensis, Asclepias syriaca, Rhus glabra, Artemesia ludoviciana, Rosa sp., Amorpha canescens, Achillea millefolium, Liatris sp., Monarda fistulosa, Helianthus sp., Ceanothus herbaceous, Silphium spp., Allium sp., Delphinium carolinianum, and Eryngium yuccifolium.
Comment: A fairly large population scattered along a southwest to northeast diagonal across the preserve, covering approximately 4.75 acres. Most plants in the population flowered, but did not produce fruit in 2022. Variation was noted within patches indicating the presence of multiple genets per patch in at least some cases. Total number of genets present in the population is estimated to be greater than 100. Collection assisted by NCRPIS student workers: Adelia Kroupa, Joshua Peters and Rebecca Lynn.
