Environment description: Remnant sand prairie.
Number of plants sampled: 50
Associated species: Chamaecrista fasciculata, Solidago nemoralis, Solidago altissima, Solidago gigantea, Solidago missouriensis, Monarda fistulosa, Verbena stricta, Liatris pycnostachya, Asclepias syriaca, Helianthus spp., Packera plattensis, Lithospermum canescens, Lespedeza capitata, Achillea millefolium, Glycyrrhiza lepidota, Prunus pensylvanica, and Prunus virginiana.
Comment: Large population with approximately 75 patches noted with an estimated number of genets at greater than 100. Growing mostly as large patches with very few growing singly. Some variation was noted within patches indicating the presence of multiple genets per patch in at least some cases. Occurs in an approximately 0.25 square kilometer area of the preserve, growing both in wet soils and well-drained sandy soils. Not all patches flowered or produced fruit in 2022.
