Environment description: Remnant sand prairie.

Associated species: Chamaecrista fasciculata, Solidago nemoralis, Solidago altissima, Solidago gigantea, Solidago missouriensis, Monarda fistulosa, Verbena stricta, Liatris pycnostachya, Asclepias syriaca, Helianthus spp., Fragaria virginiana, Equisetum sp., Lithospermum canescens, Lespedeza capitata, Achillea millefolium, Glycyrrhiza lepidota, Prunus pensylvanica, and Prunus virginiana.
Soil Texture: Sand
Comment: A large population with likely greater than 1000 plants, covering approximately a 0.15 square kilometer section of the prairie. Typically growing in localized patches but with some scattered singly between patches. Highest abundance was noted to be in the drier upland areas. Some plants were still blooming at the time of collection but most were beginning to disperse seed. Collection assisted by NCRPIS student workers: Adelia Kroupa, Joshua Peters and Rebecca Lynn.
