Environment description: Dry, oak-hickory forest along ridge top. Organic soil over red clay. Soil organic over red clay.
Number of plants sampled: 8
Associated species: Carya tomentosa, Celtis sp., Diospyrus virgiana, Pinus palustris, Oxydendrum arboreum.
Comment: Tree. Height 10 m; DBH 40 cm. Bark dark brown, furrowed. Leaves alternate; variously lobed with approximately five bristle-tipped lobes; tufts of hairs in vein axils beneath. Fruit: acorn, approximately 1.25 cm in diameter. Slope 15 degrees.
