Environment description: Wet-mesic prairie remnant on Clyde Silty Clay Loam and Floyd Loam soils.
Number of plants sampled: 100
Associated species: Gentiana andrewsii, Eryngium yuccifolium, Ratibita pinnata, Pycnanthemum virginianum, Desmodium canadense, Monarda fistulosa, Sorghastrum nutans, Andropogon gerardii, Carex bicknellii, Dodecatheon meadia, Solidago rigida, Cornus racemosa, and Lespedeza capitata.
Comment: Population size was estimated to be 500-800 plants in the 2.5 acre praire. The species is frequent with an irregular distribution at the site, mostly occurring in the central to western areas of the southern portion which is drier and with highest abundance along the transition of soil types.
