Associated species: Gentiana andrewsii, Eryngium yuccifolium, Ratibida pinnata, Pycnanthemum virginianum, Monarda fistulosa, Solidago rigida, Cornus racemosa, Lespedeza capitata, Euthamia graminifolia, Euphorbia corollata, Phlox pilosa, Liatris pycnostachya, Sorghastrum nutans, Andropogon gerardii, Carex bicknellii, and Carex brevior.
Comment: A population size of 100 plants was noted in the 2.5 acre praire. The species is frequent with an irregular distribution at the site, mostly occurring in the central to western areas of the southern portion which is drier and with highest abundance along the transition of soil types.
