S16-7922C is a semi-determinate maturity group IV non-trangenic soybean [Glycine max (L.)] cultivar developed and released by the University of Missouri - Fisher Delta Research Center. S16-7922C is resistant to southern root-knot nematode [Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid and White) Chitwood], peanut root-knot nematode [Meloidogyne arenaria (Neal) Chitwood], charcoal rot (Macrophomina phaseolina Tassi Goid), frogeye leaf spot (Cercospora sojina Hara), and stem canker (Diaporthe aspalathi Jansen, Castlebury & Crous), and moderately resistant to soybean cyst nematode (Heterodera glycines Ichinohe) and reniform nematode (Rotylenchulus reniformis Linford & Oliveira). And it is tolerant to salinity and waterlogging stress. Plants of S16-7922C have an average height of 81.9 cm and lodging score of 2.2 with white flowers, tawny pubescence, and tan pod wall. Seeds of S16-7922C have imperfect black hilum, intermediate seed luster, 100 seed weight of of 14.0g. Seed protein and oil concentrations of S16-7922C are 403 and 226 g/kg on a dry weight basis, respectively. S16-7922C was tested in a total of 110 environments across 12 states during 2017-2020.

S16-7922C was derived from the cross of ‘S11-16653C’ x ‘S11-20124C’. Maternal line S11-16653C is a maturity group V conventional soybean line, released in 2016 with high-yielding potential and a broad disease resistance package including soybean cyst nematode (Heterodera glycines Ichinohe) (SCN) races 1, 2, 3, and 5, southern root-knot nematode [Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid and White) Chitwood] (SRKN), reniform nematode (Rotylenchulus reniformis Linford & Oliveira) (RN), stem canker (Diaporthe aspalathi Jansen, Castlebury & Crous) (SC) as well as salt tolerance. S11-16653C was derived from a cross of ‘S07-2680’ x ‘LG04-6000’. Paternal line S11-20124C is a high-yielding semi-determinate early maturity group V conventional soybean line, released in 2017 with multiple disease resistance including SCN races 1, 2, 3, 5, and 14, SRKN, RN, sudden death syndrome (Fusarium virguliforme O’Donell & T. Aoki), frogeye leaf spot (Cercospora sojina Hara), phytophthora root rot (Phytophthora sojae M.J. Kaufmann & J.W. Gerdemann) and salt tolerance. S11-20124C was derived from a cross of ‘S05-11482’ x ‘S06-4649RR’.
