Description:
S16-14801C is derived from the cross ‘S11-16653’ × ‘S11-20124’ made in summer 2014 at the MU-FDRC in Portageville, Missouri. The female parent S11-16653 is derived from the cross ‘S07-2680’ × ‘LG04-6000’ and has resistance to soybean cyst nematode (SCN) races 1 (HG type 2.5.7), 3 (HG type 5.7), and 5 (HG type 2.5.7), phytophthora root rot (PRR) (races 4 and 7), and stem canker (SC). S07-2680 is a breeding line also developed by the MU-FDRC and resistant to SCN races 2 (HG type 1.2.5.7) and 3 (HG type 5.7) and SC. LG04-6000 was developed and released by the USDA-ARS and the Illinois Agricultural Experiment Station and represents a high-yielding germplasm with genetic diversity originated from a Chinese cultivar ‘Jilin 15’ (PI 436682). The male parent S11-20124 is a conventional soybean cultivar developed and released in 2017 by the MU-FDRC. It was derived from the cross ‘S05-11482’ × ‘S06-4649RR’ and has an extensive disease package, including resistance to SCN races 1 (HG type 2.5.7), 2 (HG type 1.2.5.7), 3 (HG type 7), 5 (HG type 2.5.7), and 14 (HG type 1.3.6.7), southern root-knot nematode (SRKN), and reniform nematode (RN). S05-11482 is a conventional soybean cultivar with resistance to SCN races 1, 2, 3, 5, and 14 and SRKN. S05-11482 also carries the gene Rcs3 conferring resistance to frogeye leaf spot (FLS) and has moderate resistance to SC and sudden death syndrome (SDS). S06-4649RR is a glyphosate-tolerant cultivar resistant to RN and SC and moderately resistant to SCN races 1, 2, 3, 5, and 14, SRKN, and SDS.
