Environment description: Remnant sand prairie
Number of plants sampled: 75
Associated species: Liatris pycnostachya, Monarda fistulosa, Verbena stricta, Solidago altissima, Solidago missouriensis, Solidago gigantea, Solidago rigida, and Helianthus pauciflorus
Comment: Population scattered throughout the prairie, occuring in three somewhat localized patches but with higher abundance in the northwestern corner of the preserve. Approximately 50 to 100 genets noted. Also collected on 25 October 2021.

Narrative
Plants in nature varied in height from approximately three to five feet and had a muted orange/red fall foliage color at the end of October 2021. Peak bloom occurred during the week of August 30 in 2021. Plants were generally growing as fairly open clumps with minimal spreading.
