Habitat: Wild Habitat
Environment description: Mesic, mixed deciduous/coniferous forest; Northeast-facing valley with steep slopes; long, cool ravine/gorge. Growing in rich, organic, and very rocky soil. Slope: varies. Aspect: East.
Number of plants sampled: 3
Associated species: Abies chensiensis; Picea sp.; Euptelea pleiosperma; Acer spp.; Buxus sinica; Sorbus discolor.
Comment: Description: Tree, height 8 to 15 m, DBH 15 to 30 cm. Bark pale tan; flaky. Leaves dark green above, pale green below; 1.5 to 2 cm long. Fruit: green; 1 cm wide by 3 cm long / one year old - brown; 2 cm wide by 3 cm long. Additional collection notes: Collected from several plants on 9/21/2005 and 9/22/2005 with all seed combined into this collection number (NACPEC05022).
