Environment description: South-running stream valley; warm temperate deciduous-broadleaved evergreen forest, in silty clay soil. Slope: 30 degrees. Aspect: East.

Associated species: Acer davidii; Coriara japonica; Litsea sp.; Hydrangea aspera; Kalopanax septemlobus; Mahonia sp.; Prunus sp. (evergreen tree); Quercus aliena; Rhus chinensis
Comment: Tree, 7 m tall, DBH 10 cm; bark brown, shredding; leaves evergreen, lanceolate, 8 cm long x 0.5 cm wide; cones ovoid, brown, fleshy [arillate], 3 cm long x 2 cm wide. Seeds collected from 1 tree. Many plants [associated taxa] that we could not recognize to species.
