Locality: Black Hills National Forest McIntosh Fen located approximately 2.50 miles northwest of Deerfield Reservoir on west side of Deerfield Road, low gradient area of Castle Creek, T1N R2E SW1/4 SE1/4 Sec. 23 and also SE1/4 NW1/4 Sec. 23

Environment description: Remnant wetland fen. High with peat and organic matter
Number of plants sampled: 28
Associated species: Juncus balticus, Salix candida, Salix bebbiana, Salix pseudomonticola, Salix planifolia, Dasiphora fruiticosa, Carex aurea, and Carex nebrascensis. Close associates were Dasiphora fruticosa and Salix candida.
Comment: Species locally abundant. Sampled as dormant cuttings. Sampled two areas (Area #1: 17 plants and Area #2: 11 plants) separated by approximately 900 yards. Coordinates provided refer to the southern portion. Coordinates for the northern portion may be provided upon request.
