Comment: Medium-sized tree with spreading branches. Height 15 m, DBH 30 cm. Bark brown-gray, with lenticels, ridged at trunk base. Leaves evergreen, simple, ovate to elliptical, sparsely toothed, with rusty indumentum on abaxial surface. Fruit: acorn to 3.75 cm long and 2.5 cm wide, 1/3 of nut covered by involucre.
