Comment: Deciduous shrub (height 1.8 m, spread 1.5 m, DBH n/a) to 1.8 m, with spreading habit, forming dense masses; bark glossy, gray to brown on old stems, smooth, red-purple when young; leaves lanceolate, glandular at margins, unscented; flowers absent; fruit drupe solitary to grouped (primarily in twos), produced at end of previous-year wood, bitter.
