Environment description: Roadside, mesophytic deciduous forest. Growing in humus/talus.

Comment: Small tree with upright branches and ovoid crown. Height 6 m, DBH 10 cm. Bark gray with shallow and narrow tan striations. Leaves simple, with prominent veins, doubly serrate at margin. Fruit: nutlets bracted, in pendent racemes.
