Environment description: Mixed deciduous forest. Growing in talus derived from shale, humus.

Aspect: ; Soil Texture:
Comment: Medium-sized tree of forest canopy, with slender irregular silhouette. Height 10 m, DBH 15 cm. Bark smooth, gray. Leaves 7.5 to 12.5 cm long and 4 to 7.5 cm wide, oblong to ovate, acuminate at tip. Fruit: follicetum slender, ca 15 cm long and 5 cm wide, pink; seed coat [aril] orange.
