Environment description: Growing as chasmophyte on vertical cliff face next to road, with Carpinus henryi (NACPEC18-026). Growing in humus pockets in rock.

Comment: Dense shrub with twiggy habit. Height 1 m, spread 1 m, DBH 2.5 cm. Bark tan. Leaves ovate to elliptical, to 5 cm long and 1.5 to 2.5 cm wide. Fruit: capsule to 1 cm long and 1 cm wide, broad and rounded.
