Locality: Tochigi Prefecture, Shioya-gun; Shioya-machi; Funyu Forest - Utsunomiya University Forest.

Elevation: 399m.
Environment description: Edge of forest road below cliff face; numerous seedlings of Tsuga sieboldii and Pinus densiflora growing out of cliff like bonsai. Soil is rocky/gravel.

Aspect: ; Soil Texture:
Comment: Large trees, branches somewhat ascending. Height 18 m, DBH 199 cm. Bark dark gray, ridged/furrowed. Needles arranged most of the way around the branches, to 1 cm long with white stomatal bands (2) on abaxial side. Ovoid cones, light green, to 2.5 cm x 1.2 cm.
