Locality: Kharagauli (municipality/district); Kharagauli; Hill near the village of Kharagauli, south of the road from Khashuri to Zestaponi.

Environment description: Growing on a steep slope of eastern exposure in full sun. [The site appears to have been forested in the past with boxwood in the understory, but is now dominated by boxwood because domestic animal grazing prevented tree seedling regeneration, according to Anisko in Plant Exploration for Longwood Gardens, p. 208.]
