Environment description: Recently reclaimed scrubby woods near trailhead, grazed by horses and donkeys. Soil gravelly, with organic matter; likely had been field soil, somewhat mucky.

Comment: Single-stemmed trees to about 2 meters, then splitting with co-dominant leaders with horizontal branching; height 11 m, DBH 20 cm. Older bark greenish with white markings; new bark quite green on upper and lower parts of branches. Ovate leaves alternately arranged, 10.5 cm long and 6.5 cm wide, green to reddish, glaucous on abaxial side; petioles to 4 cm. Fruit blue-black and round, to 7 mm.
