Environment description: At base of slope, near road and unnamed river in an open, flat area that looked to have once been a farmstead/home, now reclaimed by the flora of Sichuan. Soil gravelly, with some organic layer A-horizon.
Associated species: Viburnum foetidum:Hedera sp.:Kerria japonica:undetermined bamboo (Poaceae):Litsea sp.
Slope: 0 Degrees
Comment: Viciously sharp, evergreen trees. Height 7 m; DBH 12 cm. Bark whitish gray, covered in moss. Leaves evergreen, very bristly, rhombic, nearly sessile; apex with long (2 to 3 mm) spines. Fruit green, hard, 5 mm.
