Comment: Large shrub; height 2 to 3 m. Bark greenish brown, becoming flaky. Large leaves up to 20 cm long and 18 cm wide, borne on 14-centimeter-long petioles; typically cordate in shape with acuminate apices; somewhat rough surface. Fruit: small capsules on large infructescence up to 25 cm across.
