Locality: Pingwu County; Si Er; Si Er Cun. Just off north-to-south-running ridge near many old stone tombs.
Coordinates: 32.3450, 103.9867 (Map it)
Elevation: 2094m.
Environment description: Just off north-to-south-running ridge. Lots of organic matter over friable soil.
Associated species: Helwingia chinensis:Litsea sp.:Pterocarya macroptera:undetermined bamboo (Poaceae):Rhododendron spp.:Ilex sp.
Aspect:
Comment: Massive tree with some cone-laden branches that had fallen down to the ground due to monkey disturbance. Height 30 m, DBH 97 cm. Bark: grayish red and platey. Leaves: green needles, 3-4 cm long, starting to turn yellow in some parts of the tree, borne on spurs. Cones to 5 cm long by 1.5 cm, with exserted bracts.
