Narrative
Agastache foeniculum
in Montana has been minimally reported and is currently under review by the Montana Natural Heritage Program (20 October 2020). A total of eighteen herbarium specimens from Montana have been deposited (
Consortium of Pacific Northwest Herbaria
, accessed 20 October 2020) with twelve being collected since the year 2000. The species is rather restricted to the extreme eastern border and especially the southeastern corner of Montana with majority (12 herbarium specimens) being collected in Carter County. Genetics of this accession would represent the northwestern edge of the species native range. In nature, plants of this accession measured approximately 30-36 inches tall and were still green with a few flowering specimens noted at time of collection (12 September 2020).
