Locality: Near Hugh's Spring, Morgan County. North side of Pine Ridge Road, approximately 8.5 miles west-northwest of Union Grove.

Environment description: Shady roadsides, and adjacent ravine.
Number of plants sampled: 11
Associated species: H. arborescens, Quercus sp., Vaccinium arboreum, Acer rubrum.
Comment: Noted approximately 30 genotypes within 2.5 acres. Locally fairly abundant. Collections made from 11 distinct plants across an area spanning latitude 34.416843 deg. N to 34.417606 deg. N and longitude 86.593035 deg. W to 86.595241 deg. W. The GPS coordinates provided refer to NA 86192.01/acc. 1262, the first plant sampled in the population.
