Locality: Coon Creek Forever Wild Tract, Tallapoosa County. Approximately 4.25 miles north-northeast of Tallassee, near the confluence of Coon Creek with the Tallapoosa River.

Associated species: Magnolia sp., Cercis canadensis, Carpinus carolinana, Fagus grandifolia.
Comment: Noted 10 - 20 genotypes within approximately 0.5 acres. Collections made from 3 distinct plants across an area spanning latitude 32.595836 deg. N to 32.596116 deg.
