Locality: Kisatchie National Forest, Rapides Parish. Approximately 4.2 miles west of Castor Plunge and 7.2 miles northeast of Hineston. Bluff above Long Branch approximately 10 meters north of the Wild Azalea Trail.

Environment description: Shady river bank.

Associated species: Magnolia grandiflora, Lonicera japonica, Acer rubrum, Smilax sp., Vitis riparia.
Comment: Small population (5 - 10 genotypes). Only two plants flowered in 2018. Locally very rare. Collections made from 2 distinct plants across an area spanning latitude 31.215024 deg. N to 31.215233 deg. N and longitude 92.670957 deg. W to 92.671015 deg. W. The GPS coordinates provided refer to NA 86173.01/acc. 324, the first plant sampled in the population.
