Locality: Old Cove Nature Preserve (TNC Preserve), Webster County. 9.7 mi northwest of Eupora. Approximately 180 m north of Old Cove Heath Rd (Highway 30).

Environment description: Ravines and steep slopes above intermittent stream.
Number of plants sampled: 9
Associated species: H. barbara, Fagus grandifolia, Magnolia pyramidata, Quercus sp., Fothergilla gardenii
Comment: Fairly abundant, but sparsely scattered population throughout the canyon and associated ravines. Likely at least 50 genotypes noted. Collections made from 9 distinct plants across an area spanning latitude 33.613232 deg. N to 33.61417 deg. N and longitude 89.407431 deg. W to 89.410262 deg. W (approximately 300 m along the stream). The GPS coordinates provided refer to NA 86163.01/acc. 214, the first plant sampled in the population. GPS coordinates of each individual sampled may be provided upon request (NA 86163.01 through 86163.09).
