Narrative
Plants measuring approximately 60 cm in height. Infructescences fully mature at time of collection (23 October 2019), likely past peak maturity by approximately 4 weeks. Population (EC-ID: 17843) was originally documented by Steven B. Rolfsmeier on 8 June 2015 (Nebraska Pine Ridge Plant Resurvey, 2015: Report submitted to the Nebraska Natural Heritage Program) noting “
Agastache foeniculum
was located in a ravine bottom that burned in 2012. Estimated population size: 200-300 stems covering approximately 125 sq. meters”.
A. foeniculum
in Nebraska is currently tracked by the Nebraska Natural Heritage Program and is listed (6 November 2019) as a S1 (Critically Imperiled - at very high risk of extirpation in the state due to very restricted range, few populations or occurrences, steep declines, severe threats or other factors) and Tier 2 species (Tier 2 - species are typically those that are not at-risk from a global or national perspective but are rare or imperiled within Nebraska).
