Narrative
These genetic stocks were produced in cv.Alpowa soft white spring wheat (PI 566595). All Nils were BC7 (Alpowa/Waxy Pen/7*Alpowa). The Nils are indistinquishable from Alpowa morphologically and developmentally. They are expected to have the Yr39 gene conferring high temperature adult plant resistance to strip rust caused by Puccinia striiformis West.f. sp. tritici from Alpowa.
