Locality: Located south of Roan Mountain approximately 5.8 miles along State Route 143 (Roan Road), Carter County.

Environment description: Bottom of hillside along roadside.
Number of plants sampled: 30
Associated species: Impatiens pallida, Impatiens capensis, Ageratina altissima, Tusilago farfara, Eutrochium sp. (perhaps E. purpureum) and Symphiotrichum sp.
Comment: Sampled two areas separated by approximately 1.00 (air miles). One area sampled (Site #1) covered approximately 100 linear feet (roadside) representing circa 20-25 plants and the other area sampled (Site #2) only ten linear feet (roadside) representing circa 5 plants. Some flowering noted at time of collection (8 September 2018) at lower elevations. Noticeable variation in elevation between the two sampled areas (e.g. 1434 vs 1562 meters). Specimens at lower elevations were further along phenologically in comparison to higher elevations. Coordinates provided refer to the largest area sampled (Site #1). The other area is located circa 1.0 mile to the southwest.
