Description:
MSA 2-3-98 was developed from 3 generations of selection. In the first generation, MSA-10 was cross pollinated by SATX 8 to produce the selection ‘F1-16’ and Raleigh was crossed with MSA-10 to produce ‘F1-24’. In the second generation, F1-16 was crossed with F1-24 to produce ‘F2-1’. F2-1 was then planted in a nursery surrounded by other F2 selections and allowed to open pollinate. MSA 2-3-98 is a single genotype selection that resulted from the open- (possible self-) pollination of F2-1.
