Environment description: Infrequently mowed, clear cut area for powerline.
Number of plants sampled: 350
Associated species: Rubus sp., Mimosa quadrivalvis var. nuttallii, Chamaecrista fasciculata, Vitis sp., Smilax bona-nox and Schizachyrium scoparium. Nearby Quercus stellata, Quercus marilandica, Asclepias tuberosa, Monarda punctata, Carya texana, Pinus echinata and Clematis carrizoensis

Narrative
Plants with lemon scent and pubescent stems and leaves measuring 1.0-3.0' in height. Noted extreme variation across population with some plants exhibiting both heavily pubescent and others with minimally pubescent stems. Plants not observed during flower, but all specimens sampled believed to be M. luteola. Seeds likely reached full maturity around first week in July (2018).
