Environment description: Open, dry woods, edge of woods and open clear cut areas with prairie grasses/forbes.

Associated species: Smilax bona-nox, Mimosa quadrivalvis var. nuttallii, Viburnum rufidulum, Vitis spp., Quercus stellata, Carya spp., Echinacea sanguinea, Eryngium yuccafolium and Pinus echinata
Comment: Widely scattered, specimens throughout an estimated, total calculated area of 90 acres. Noted a total of 1,000+ specimens in four general areas. Greatest distance between two specimens sampled is 2.0 miles. Coordinates provided represent eastern extent of population.

Plants with lemon scent, pubescent stems and leaves with faint yellow flowers measuring circa 2.0-2.5' in height. Plants likely reached peak flower on 10 May 2018. Seeds likely reached full maturity around first week in July (2018).
