Description:
Parents of CP 09-1952 were the two CP sugarcane breeding lines CP 01-2390 (female) and Poly 06-30 (male). Grandparents on the female side were CP 95-2318 and CP 94-1528, and on the male side were unknown as the male could be any of the 15 varieties in the polycross. Known great grandparents on the female side were CP 72-2086, CP 87-1628, and US 90-1090. Great great grandparents on the female side included CP 62-374, CP 63-588, CP 69-1052, CP 79-1374, and US 87-1002. There was one commercial cultivar among its great grandparents: CP 72-2086 that was released for commercial production in Florida and it was widely grown in Florida and many Latin American countries. Of these ancestral cultivars, CP 72-2086 was the most widely grown sugarcane cultivar in Florida in 1994.
