Description:
DEIL0251-HZ5a was developed from seed collected from five native tallgrass prairie sites in the eastern Nebraska which are in the northern half of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 5. DEIL-251-HZ5b was developed from seed collected from two tallgrass prairie sites in Missouri and eight tallgrass prairie sites in Kansas located in the southern half of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 5. Plants for each population were intermated in isolation for 1 or more generations.
