Narrative
This germplasm population which was produced by one generation of intermating is adapted to the tall grass prairie region of the USA in Plant Hardiness Zone 4. This roundhead prairie clover germplasm is morphologically similar to those found in native prairies in its ecoregion and Plant Hardiness Zone in the Midwest states of the USA. There is variation within this germplasm for maturity, plant height and other traits. Plant breeders can use this germplasms as a base populations for cultivar development or companies producing seed of native plants can it as a seed source of known adaptation. Roundhead prairie clover can be used in mixtures for planting grasslands for grazing or forage, native prairie restoration, and roadside, rest area, and park beautification. Its flowers are used by an array of pollinators.
